York Harbour

As you continue to drive along Captain Cook’s Trail you can view many small islands in the ocean giving the reason for Captain Cook giving the area the name “Bay of Islands”.

The town of York Harbour is settled at the tip of the Bay of Islands South Shore and nestled at the foothills of the Long Range Mountains. York Harbour received its name from one of Captain Cook’s ships, the H.M.S. York.
