Steady Brook

The Town of Steady Brook is located approximately 6 km east of the city of Corner
Brook.

In 1927, the Newfoundland Power and Paper Company conducted a survey of the lower Humber River in search of a place for a holding boom to begin logging operations. This survey initiated movements and spawned the beginning of the community.

An area of undeniable scenic beauty, Steady Brook was already largely
dependent on providing accommodation and other services to travelers by 1960, when the Corner Brook Ski Club began developing Marble Mountain, opened to the public in 1963.

The community of Steady Brook has become known as the location of the Marble Mountain ski resort. The expansion of the ski facility has been paralleled by a growing number of tourist cabins and other services at Steady Brook.
