Pollard's Point

North from Hampden Junction (54 km) lies the picturesque community of Pollard’s Point. This logging community is also the site of long abandoned gold mines. While the mine shafts are not safe for exploration, you may view an abandoned shaft from the roadside.

The sheltered harbour is a good place to launch a boat and enjoy cod jigging, squid jigging or fishing for sea trout at the mouth of Main River, just down the shore. Fish the Corner Brook Stream for trout or grilse, hike the huge mountain behind the community for a panoramic view
of the harbour or take a stroll along the beach at Giles Cove. There is much to see in Pollard’s Point.
